Album Info:
I posed in a chamber of an underground city in Cappadocia, where thousands of people fled to avoid the severe persecution of the early church under Rome in the first century. They would have barns for animals, storage areas for food and water, air shafts, schools, churches, all underground. These tunnel extended 5 levels, hundred of feet, underneath the ground, and these people would stay in these areas for up to a year. Any pursuing soldiers would be blocked in the tunnel leading to the city by a heavy stone obelisque. If the soldiers would try to remove the stone, they would have boiling oil thrown on them through a hole made in the ceiling of the tunnel.
