The tented accommodation in Damaraland, Namibia

Album Info:
Our tent was adequate with just a fan and running water. The electric power was provided by a generator. The days were hot inside the tent; however, the nights were pleasanter. The lodge management made us aware that we were in African wilderness surrounded by wildlife. They advised that before we turn in for the night we check under the pillows and sheets for possible scorpions, spiders etc. I guess, it was a standard precaution just like looking right and left before crossing a street in a big city. Needless to say we turned the beds upside down every night!! We were also advised not to walk alone in the night as the camp was not fenced. The lodge personnel were extremely friendly, hospitable and courteous. We had a great time in Damaraland and never encountered any unwelcome visitors in our tent.

In those wild places in the desert exist unfortunately a lot of risk from not to underestimate!! The precautions is not ever too much!! It is not possible surely it claim to find the comforts of a hotel to five stars of Rome or Paris and of to stroll calmly as in a park of the town!! I am happy that you did not meet unwelcome visitors and that for all you was at the better !!:-)
