Album Info:

During the two and a half years that Archie Stapleton and his family spent living in Sagada, he got the workshop outfitted with wheels, clay processing equipment, and kilns. A dozen or so apprentices were trained in all of the stages of pottery production: locating and processing clay from the surrounding mountains, throwing forms on a wheel, locating materials for glazes, applying glazes, building and firing kilns, as well as the scientific principles underlying clay and glaze composition as well as the effects of different firing conditions on the eventual outcome of a pot.
