Album Info:

The Italian word "camposanto", that means the holy yard, is used as a synonym of the word ’cemetery’ and was firstly used to refer to this Pisan building. Presumably it contained soil claimed to be miraculous, causing buried bodies to decay in just 24 hours: indeed according to the legend, the soil came from the Holy Land, from Palestine. It had been brought there by the Archbishop Ubaldo Lanfranchi, back from the Third Crusade (1189)
