Album Info:

(DSC05006) This "bodega" (a granary or storage building) was built in 1872 by Don Ladisalo Donato, a Mestizo Chinese merchant. Though not in the same family, the building is still occupied by Chinese merchants and a tailoring shop. The photo is of Atong Peña Bodega, now Lucy’s Antique Shop. The more affluent families in Vigan built granaries beside their houses. The granary is a single storey, rectangular structure made of masonry with a pitched roof. The structure was designed with either windows or entrances on the long sides. The granary was used to store agricultural produce.
