This shows the consistent swells which race across the Pacific Ocean to make Waimea Bay so famous for surfing. Surf heights that evening were between fifteen and twenty foot faces on the outside. The line up (out of the picture to the right) was still pretty crowded even with the frequent squall lines passing through and impending darkness.
