The tympanum shows Jesus Christ giving the Benediction. The Bible in his left arm has a Latin inscription saying "I am the light of the world"(John 8,12). He has on each side two angels, holding the symbols of the four evengelists: Angel, Eagle, Lion, Bull

Very beautiful. It looks like gold guilding on the stone but perhaps patina from age making it look wonderful.
