Album Info:
Stanford Dole, backed by other prominent sugar planters, proclaimed the overthrow of the Hawai'ian monarchy and establishment of a provisional government on the steps of this building on January 17, 1893. The clock hasn't worked in years because it is old and broken. The parts to fix it are evidently no longer manufactured. Time stands still for both this long exposure shot and for the Hawai'ian people.

full size ... I noticed the clock ... and that answered the question as to how you were able to do a long exposure like this without a million tourists tramping through!! Well done!!!

This is just wonderful. I see it is a timed exposure and it worked beautifully..

Exquisite camera work Clark, this is profoundly beautiful!! There is so much depth within this amazing image, the frame seems as a window I may step into! A 10 second exposure worked magic my friend, it is fantastic! I adore the look of the light and shadows on the stone with this magnificent work of architectural art and the lovely palms are gorgeous! Sharon ~ "My house is buried in the deepest recess of the forest. Every year, ivy vines grow longer than the year before. Undisturbed by the affairs of the world I live at ease, Woodmen’s singing rarely reaching me through the trees. While the sun stays in the sky, I mend my torn clothes And facing the moon, I read holy texts aloud to myself. Let me drop a word of advice for believers of my faith. To enjoy life’s immensity, you do not need many things." by Ryokan
