Album Info:
This is a photo of historic Main Street, where many quaint little shops and romantic sidewalk cafes are a popular tourist destination. Saint Charles, Missouri, was the first permanent settlement on the Missouri River. French Canadian fur trader, Louis Blanchette, founded the town as Les Petites Cotes (The Little Hills) in 1769(later to be known as St. Charles). The city served as the first capitol of the state of Missouri from 1821 to 1826. P1090194

Wow! I am a graphic designer and am currently looking for a photo of St. Charles to be included in an ad to run in the newspaper for our company. This photo is better than any I've seen on any stock photo sites (by the way, you should sell your photos to some of those sites) and am wondering if we could possibly buy the rights to use this photo in one of our ads (with approval from my boss, of course). If you have a high resolution version of this and are interested in this possibility, (and it's cool with the rules of this site) please email me at clalpert@agedward.com.

In todays out of town supermarket world, we need to keep our sence of proportion with these little shops. Grest photo.

Sharon, I can't believe how many people I missed last month. I can blame it on being at Bonnies, I guess. Too many things going on that month. But I love this picture. It is really beautiful. But that's nothing new for you.

We live near Keokuk, IA and we are frequently in your area; visiting St. Louis, going to the mall; or the airport. I love St. Charles and it's beautiful and unique shops. I love your photographs and have downloaded many, including this one. Thank you for sharing your hobby with us.

Hi photoop23: You are my very favorite photographer. I have your pics on my desktop quite often. Living in St. Louis, I can appreciate the quaint St. Charles city ~ and Main Street is the main street. This photo exemplifies the feeling of a first capitol. I love the pic, and it's on my desktop now.

Beautiful street. So nice to see all the flowers. It looks old with those lamp-posts and all, but it was only founded in 1965. I take it that's a typo! 1765? ;) Tony.
