Album Info:
They are very shy, it was pretty hard to get some shots since every time that I pointed the camera towards them, they covered their faces or walked away, even when I asked if I could take their pictures they would say no, but I managed to get some shots. This is not a tourist spot and "whites" usually do not go to the tribe unless on a government mission. Luckly I had a friend that had to go on such a mission and went along for the ride. The Kadiweu Indians mastered the art of horsemanship with horses they captured from the invading Spaniards in the 16th century and the Kadiweu went on to dominate the other Indian tribes in central western Brazil. Today, many Kadiweu are employed as campeiros, or ranch hands, on fazendas (cattle ranches). They are located in the state o Mato Grosso do Sul, near the town of Bodoquena.
