I myself am not a veteran though both my Grandfathers served in the RAF. One sadly paid the ultimate price and was shot down over the Netherlands in 1943. He's interred in Bergen. I am however a writer and a student of History. Korea was a horrible and dirty little war that ended in a stalemate with nothing gained (territorially) on either side and much privation and tragedy experienced on all sides. Technically it's a cease fire, not a cessation of hostilities. This memorial though is very powerful and moving and reflects very effectively the spirit of that war and why we should always remember, "That the price of freedom is eternal vigilance."
