Album Info:

After you've rested a bit at the lookout, if you are feeling adventurous, try climbing to the bunkers at the top of the mountain. They were a part of the extensive coastal defense system on Oahu during World War Two. Use extreme caution because the trails leading up to the bunkers are unpaved, very steep, and potentially very dangerous; especially if they are wet. Once at the top, though, you will be rewarded with an unprecedented sweeping panorama of windward Oahu. By the way, that's a dragonfly, and not a futuristic helicopter, in the picture.

    • Wish I'd had more time in Hawaii to explore a bit more, but since we had elderly family with us and went on a lot of minibus excursions, we didn't have much freedom. Still had an excellent time though. Maybe next time I will get to experience views like this in person. Clark, thanks for showing me more of our beautiful 50th state! P.S. I like your sense of humor!
