Album Info:

(DSC03969) Fort Santa Isabel is about 50 square meters and 30 to 40 feet in height. It is constructed with towers on its 4 corners and a single gate made of thick iron bars. The walls are made of two feet by one foot slabs of stone which was believed to be taken from the bottom of the sea. When the Spaniards controlled the municipality, the fort was a bastion against local uprisings & foreign invaders or pirates. Furthermore, it served as the residence for Spanish officials. It also served to shelter townfolks in times of attacks from unfriendly forces. (Taken from http://www.pcsd.ph/photo_gallery/wonders /Taytay%20Profile.htm)
