Plaza San Martin and Torre Monumental
gorbatsov > albums > Central Buenos Aires - Argentina
Album Info:
The San Martin square is at the northern end of Calle Florida, a pedestrianized shopping street in central Buenos Aires. The plaza is designated for San Martin, the founding father of Argentina. The Torre Monumental was constructed by the British and originally it was known as Torre de los Ingleses (British Tower). However, after the Malvinas/Falkland war, the tower was officially renamed (though unofficially the name Torre de los Igleses is still used).
