Album Info:

A little beggar child co-inhabit a street corner with a cow. Cows are sacred creatures in Hinduism and tend to roam free on the streets where strangers would feed them. These cows are widely revered as matriarchal figures for their gentle nature and their ability to produce life nurturing milk from a vegetarian diet. There is some debate over the origin of the sacredness of the cow, as ancient Vedic texts describe the sacrafice and subsequent eating of bovine. Some scholars have suggested that the Vedic people used to eat beef, but as the largely pastoral population started to rely more heavily on cows for providing milk, tilting fields, and producing fertilizers (cow dung), the cows were elevated to its current revered state. Some have attributed the scripture injection against harming cows and draught ox in general to Krishna, who tended cows.
