Introduction: Taipei, Taiwan - Taipei is the capital of Taiwan, Republic of China. Taipei is a very modern city with many traditional sights. First time visitors may be surprised with some of the grittiness of the streets in the older area of Taipei. Upon further exploration, there are many jewels within this great city waiting for people to explore. This album, and my journey, focuses on the very rich culture of Taipei, Taiwan, including superb Taiwanese temples, a fully restored Taiwanese homestead, excellent museums, great food, and grand Chinese style monuments and gardens. Another delightful experience is the hospitality of the Taiwanese people. This journey finally fulfilled my wish to visit Taiwan for a long time and Taipei definitely has become another one of my favourite cities. This album also features Wulai and Taroko Gorge - both done as day trips from Taipei. Wulai is a beautiful mountain town with a lovely waterfall. The main reason for visiting Wulai is the aboriginal Atayal show. The Taroko Gorge is one of the most beautiful scenic areas in Taiwan and should not be missed for nature lovers. The Longshan Temple in Taipei, shown in the photo, is one of the most beautiful temples I have seen.
