the Kadiweu Indians mastered the art of horsemanship with horses they captured from the invading Spaniards in the 16th century and the Kadiweu went on to dominate the other Indian tribes in central western Brazil. Today, many Kadiweu are employed as campeiros, or ranch hands, on fazendas (cattle ranches).
