Our first stop after departing Houston on the way to Europe is the Big Apple, New York, Roza(Rozalia421), Giancarlo (gbisone) and Bob(rgaida) are our expert guides(and stop the traffic :D) as our hordes cross joyfully into the heart of Manhatten. We start the trip on a sad note as we observe the missing view of the twin towers as we cross, we go to the 9/11 memorial site to pay tribute to the folks who lost their lives and the heroic men and women who helped in the rescue and cleanup. Here we are also joined by Theresa (TFM446) from Pennsylvania, who has dedicated her site to the victims..

Ah! NYC. Fell in love with NY when I was there in 2001. Had the greatest opportunity of a lifetime to get up to the observation floor of the south tower of the twin towers. The view was fantastic. Sadly, the WTC was gone 8 months later.

Marita, this is a terrific shot! This is 15 photos in one, so much to see....I love New York, well I was 5 when I last visited (no, I'm not telling how many years ago that was) but I have fond memories and this was on my "to do" list, so nice of you to take me along

New York, New York.. This photo is so inviting, it will be so exciting to explore it with such good guides.. I`ve walked through this city guided by Tjebbe last year and it was wonderful, now I`ll take my Mabel`s hand and I`ll enjoy this incredible city with you.. Oh, there is sooo much to see!! We have such wonderful guides to actually stop traffic for us! I've never been to New York and am getting dizzy trying to take it all in! My dad was here once. He said it was a spectacular place!

Beautiful shot Marita! I have been here and in my memory it doesn't seem quite so lovely as this view! Signs Signs Everywhere are Signs, it is extraordinary that they would distract from this gorgeous stone bridge structure for advertising space. Wow! Can you imagine? Every square inch of New York City is probably worth a fortune! You know, my sister and I were lost in Yonkers before they came out with the title for the movie! No kidding! And then we ended up in Queens! What a drive! I was so relieved when we finally returned to the Wild Woods.
