Album Info:

Mayon Volcano is the Philippines' most active volcano and is considered to be the world's most perfectly formed volcano for its symmetrical cone. It is a basaltic-andesitic volcano. The upper slopes of the volcano are steep averaging 35-40 degrees and are capped by a small summit crater. Its sides are layers of lava and other volcanic material. Like other volcanoes located around the rim of the Pacific Ocean, Mayon is part of the "Pacific Ring of Fire". (Taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mayon_Volca no)

    • Finally a picture of Mt. Mayon with primarily a deep green foreground. So many pictures of this world wonder have so much red and brown clay soil. This one does justice to the lush vegetation of the hills in Albay where my parents were born.

    • What a nicely framed shot here, Mary Ann. The angle of the foreground leaves, the slopes of the distant hills all point to the perfect cone of her majesty, the Mayon volcano. You are a blessed photographer with an enormous talent!
