Album Info:

The state park is named for another early pioneer settler, Julia Pfeiffer Burns (1868-1928). She arrived with her family in 1868, as an 11-month old baby. In 1915, she married John Burns a Scottish orphan who lived with the nearby Post family. They continued to live and ranch in the Big Sur country until Julia's death in 1928. Mrs. Burns and her husband owned a ranch in the McWay Canyon, and the McWay Falls and Cove were her favorite place to sit and enjoy the beauty of the Big Sur.
