(DSC01322) BITAOG: The seed of the Bitaog (Calophyllum inophyllum) yield greenish yellow oil that is used as a natural remedy for skin diseases and rheumatism. The oil is used as fuel for lighting, a soap ingredient and as furniture varnish. Bitaog flowers from March to August. The fragrant flowers attract bees and other insects. Orchids & ferns, like the Oak Fern, cling to its thick and fissured trunk. There are six species of Calophyllum in Palawan. (Taken from the river site's signage along the seashore)
