Mount McKinley on a clear day

Album Info:
Alaska, in the 18th century, was remote and inaccessible to most people except some hardy, early settlers. Eventually, whaling started, followed by the discovery of salmon runs. But, what catapulted Alaska to eminence was the gold rush in the late 19th century in the Klondike region. The rush was unstoppable; however, few made fortune out of gold prospecting. In 1959 Alaska became the 49th State in USA. In 1968 massive oil reserves were discovered and Alaska's fortune was made with the Arab embargo of oil in 1973.

What an incredible photograph of an incredible mountain! I don't know how you got such a wonderful photo, but you did a great job; thanks from someone who is going to download it and use it on a quilt! (along with several of your other photographs of glaciers, ok?!)
