The new US 40 and Interstate bridge is in the foreground, while the old US 40 bridge is in the background. George Stewart has a photograph of the old bridge in his US 40 book. When that picture was taken in 1950, the spot from which this pcture was taken, the St. Louis Arch, did not yet exist.
