Mom, grandpa and I went to Las Vegas for a four day trip to America's city of lights in Feb 2004. It was great to get away from the cold winter in the Prairies. While Las Vegas was not warm in Feb, it was much warmer than the Canadian Prairies! We purchased a package that included hotel, transfer and airfare. The sightseeing mainly concentrated on the strip area with its massive hotels. Many hotels have themes, making the strip almost like a big theme park for adults. The downtown of Las Vegas also has some very interesting casinos and the light show at Fremont street is not to be missed. There is a frequent and easy to use bus that travels on the strip and to/from downtown, so transport is not a problem. Another thing to try is the famous buffets. We tried one at the Bellagio hotel and it was very good with many choices. As to shows, we saw a good magic show at Monte Carlo hotel. Las Vegas, with all these massive development, can be pricier than before, but it remains a very good place for a short visit.
