(DSC02488) FISHERY AND AQUATIC RESOURCES - Dipolog City waters are one of the richest fishing grounds in Western Mindanao covering an area of about 24 square miles. About fifty-six (56) fish species are caught in marine fishing. Types of fishing include municipal, commercial and inland or aqua-culture development. Average fish production in commercial fishing for the last three years is 409 tons, municipal fishing accounts 220 tons and aqua-culture development 61 tons. Some of the species caught in the city waters the whole year round are: 1. Cadalla (Anduhaw) 2. Frigate Mackerel (Bantaan) 3. Round Scad (Sigarilyo) 4. Red Tail (Pulang Ikog) 5. Cut Lass (Diwit-Diwit) 6. Skip Jack (Sambagon) 7. Rainbow Runner (Tulungkase) 8. Slip Mouth (Tabilos) 9. Anchovy (Bolinao) 10. Indian Sardines (Tuloy) 11. Goat Fish (Malitubong) 12.
