Brussels was my second and last stop in Belgium before going to Amsterdam. Brussels is the capital of Belgium and it is another very delightful city on my two week journey in Europe. I came to see the world heritage La Grand Place, Royal Square / Palace and Mini-Europe, and I was very glad to come and see these places in Brussels. La Grand Place was just stunning, day and night. No wonder it is a UNESCO world heritage site of Brussels, Belgium. On second day, it was raining really heavily but fortunately I had nice weather on my first day in Brussels. Of course Brussels is more than just sights - the friendly and helpful Belgian people, the delicious fries, mussels in garlic sauce, waffles and chocolates, pedestrian friendly neighbourhoods in the historic centre of Brussels...they make an unforgettable journey. Brussels and Belgium are also nice and quiet after a few days in Paris. The only "scary" incident in Brussels was at metro when I was surrounded by some young kids asking for money. I just paid them something and ran away and tried to avoid that metro station. Another regret was not to have time to go inside the Royal Museum of Fine Arts to admire Magritte's work.
