  • Great shot ! Anyone complaining about it not comparing to an ocean & all that other blaa blaa blaa has never been on/at one of the Great Lakes during a storm. Remember the Edmund Fitzgerald people ?? Jeez ... can't we just enjoy the photos without trying to one-up each other with how edified we are ?? *sigh*

  • Wolf I had DL'd this shot some time ago for my screensaver. It's fantastic! Love the album and want to congratulate you on being featured. Well deserved. Fay

  • "40 MPH winds buffet the Sodus Point lighthouse and Pier" Angry Seas ... see a comment below --- but in Inglez it ain't a Sea, Sam! THE POWERS OF THE OCEANS can hardly apply to the Great Lakes of fresh water! I'm presently stranded with WIND DRIVEN WATER but that hardly impresses. Still, this IS a terriffic pix and worth many, many kudos!!

  • Hey again wolftinz! After seeing your X-mas trees photo I had to see what else you did.I am from upstate N.Y. also, as this photo is. I think I've been there, to Sodus Point. That is the one on Lake Ontario isn't it? Everyone is calling it sea spray. Is it still called that even though it is the fresh water of Lake Ontario?? I went there several years ago to visit the railroad there.(I'm a RR buff)I believe it was the Ontario Midland RR. Didn't see this lighthouse at the time but had I known it was in the area I would have taken a photo of it also. Even on a calm day it would be photogenic. We have many lighthouses on the St. Lawrence River also. I live next to the river outside of Ogdensburg. I wouldn't mind having a framed photo of this and other lighthouses for my house too. This may be the start of me taking photos of these while out on the river myself! Where are you from? Excellent job my friend! I will check out the rest of your handywork now also! Thank You. PJH.

  • Is anyone thinking clearly??? 100 years ago there was no lighthouse, but there were 100 mile an hour winds and the 100 year storm that made this look like childs play! I hate to burst your bubble all you patters on the backers,(did I just write that?) this does not in any way, shape, or form, show any....any global warming effects what-so-ever! Sorry, but someone needed to tell it like it is. I can't believe only brenda questioned the forever changing seas. (comment on the 15 years ago photo)Rock on brenda!!! Nice Photos though wolftinz are they your own?

  • Wow this is a fantastic photograph! Even though this location may have seen large storms in centuries past. It's the increased frequency, as you stated, which further proves, that the climate is changing faster than it should be! I guarantee you will make the top three with this photograph! Congratulations in advance! Johnny:)

  • Hi wolf (oder Hallo Wolfgang, wie du willst!)! I love this pic! The power of the sea and the explosions of the wawe crashes have something magic, frightneing and attracting at the same time! I also invite you to watch my little album called "Seastorm in Camogli". Eventhough the pics are scanned from paper prints, I think they could interest a sea lover like you! i also suggest you to follow the link reported below photo n.2, it will show some interesting pictures covering 80 years of storms in that beautiful village. Ciao from Torino (oder Gruesse aus Torino!) Roberto
