This bridge, located in Mountain City, Nevada is/was the center of much controversy, at least amongst the local citizenry. The town of Mountain City has a population of perhaps 20 full-time residents. The bridge was built, with taxpayer dollars, to support heavy semi-trucks that would travel at the rate of 75 mph, and there is no where to travel beyond the bridge! You can see where there is a dirt road that makes an abrupt left-hand turn at the end of the bridge...any vehicle, let alone an enormous truck, travelling at the rate of 75 mph, would crash trying to negotiate the sudden turn onto a gravel road. Our hard-earned tax dollars at work!!!
