Foster Garden traces its beginning to 1853 when Queen Kalama leased a small area of land to William Hillebrand, a young German doctor. A botanist as well as a physician, he and his wife built a home in the upper terrace area of the present garden.

    • oooooooo early morning!!!!!!! I'd recognize that light anywhere!!!! Just got in a few minutes ago from 8 hours of driving .. down and back to visit my youngest at college ... he turned 21 today <sob!> ... must run and get some dinner one the table for Dear Hubby ... but will be back!! i had to give myself a treat and preview your newest magic!!!!!
