Catholic tradition holds that the Virgin Mary fell into eternal sleep at a site on Mount Zion. Hence the name Dormition of this Catholic-Benedictine church, which means sleep. Also on Mount Mount Zion are the presumed Tomb of King David and the Coenaculum, where Jesus and his disciples have had the Last Supper.
