Album Info:

This is a 360-degree 12-piece stitch of Old Sarum Fort near Salisbury. Though Old Sarum was originally a neolithic settlement it was already a 'fort' since the Iron age. The "Machu Picchu"-like ruins of a 13th-century fort are visible in the centre of the image. The two white 'strips' are actually the path from which I took the panorama sequence. Salisbury, which was to my back, is visible at both edges of the image in the far far background. In the full size image you can even see the spire of Salisbury Cathedral if you know where to look. [Panorama stitched using Hugin.]
