Yes, it is very much photographed and I noticed that it is also receiving some TLC.... like the little wall that surrounds it and those lines to keep it straight..... The first pictures I saw of it didn't have that. Glad to see that someone has stepped in to give it a chance at survival, it has been doing it on it's own for quite a while. Love your pictures. Thank you for sharing. This one was like receiving news from a friend. Long life to this determined little tree.

You found a good position to shoot this image and also captured light beautifully. On the opposite shore of the Pacific, along the Japanese coast, one can find almost the same scenery with artistic cypress trees. Congratulations for the feature on the homepage!

Awesome Picture of some beautiful trees! I cannot believe however that a 250 year old tree is in bondage to some cables that look like they are for joy riding! If you or anyone is asking would the cables be ok with a younger tree (say under 50) then ok... but I wish that it was not so with this Beautiful Tree at it's GLORY. Keep up the fantastic shots! =D

Gosh, that is beautiful! This is going into my "Favorite Photos" album. In "iblyn's" note this beautiful tree may no longer exist. Please say it isn't true! I am so glad I downloaded this photo to gaze at if it did blow down. Felt the same way when "The Old Man in the Mountain" came down in a rockslide in New Hampshire which was that state's icon.
