Album Info:

Olives, Mount of A hill about 1.6 km.(1 mile) long to the east of Jerusalem, separated from it by the Kidron valley, on which Gethsemane (Hebrew for an ‘oil-press’) was situated. Jesus resorted to it for prayer(Mark 14: 32) and stayed at Bethany on the south side (Matt. 21: 17). The mount was a place of eschatological associations: from it Jesus foresaw Jerusalem's destruction (Mark 13: 3 ff.) and Luke pictured the ascension and promised return as taking place there (Luke 24: 50; Acts 1: 12). It had been prophesied that on the day of the return of the Lord to Jerusalem he would stand on the mount (Zech. 14: 4), and this was applied to Jesus.
