Such a luscious study in lavender, orange, and rose this is! And the whirring, restless feel of it... the tragic figure of the snail, about to lose its life in the heron's bill, illuminated against the surf, and the foamy water, and the excellent plumage of the bird with the stark contrast of its black beak and legs--it doesn't get better than this. What an ethereal nature contrasted with solid reality are combined in this fine photograph. Keep up the good work! xoxo

This is a really good capture of the Egret in the middle of a snack! They are beautiful birds and sometimes they stay so still for so long until the right tidbit comes along and they grab for it. A well deserved POTD! Congratulations! Got to see the rest of the album now.

Congratulations on your featured POTD! I love the light you have captured, bhut I do not know how you managed to get it so it appears to be coming from 2 different directions. The morsel it has in its beak and the surf show action. The feather on the tail that is curled upward is also unique. An amazing capture!

Nice shot. I just wanted to let you know that this bird is a snowy egret, I can see the yellow feet, and yellow around the eyes. The great egret gets green around the eyes and has black legs and feet.
