Album Info:

To spice up tourism with adventure, the State would now be offering river rafting safaris on river Betwa for a thrilling and exciting experience for the plucky explorers. Rafting Safari on the Betwa river will lure youngsters to Orchha, the starting point of rafting safari. Orchha, known for its beautiful temples, forts and palaces built in 16th and 17th century by Bundela rulers, is a heritage site. What makes it even more attractive is the easy access by rail and road. Orchha is just 16 km from the nearest railhead Jhansi on the Delhi-Mumbai and Delhi-Chennai main lines. Regular bus service connects Orchha to Jhansi. Tempos and taxis are also available. The river Betwa flows along the beautiful Chhatris (cenotaphs) of the Bundela chieftains. Fourteen of these perfectly symmetrical monuments are grouped along the scenic Kanchan Ghat, from where the river-rafting safari starts. The Betwa flows along cheerfully and is strewn with boulders lacing the rafting with thrill. On the right bank of Betwa lies the Orchha Wildlife Sanctuary, a pristine forest which harbours many species of wild animals and rare birds. The safari, after negotiating the rapids, moves to Shiv Ghat, 3 km downstream of Kanchan Ghat. Here the participants can take a break for snacks/lunch on a rocky island.
