    • Hello Millie. Had the same experience as you come twilight. One bat flew to check his audience and conditions. :-) Then a few dozen came out, circled a bit and flew away over the ridge. Stayed for about 1/2 hr to see the process repeated. Park Ranger said it would take many hrs for approx 400,000 bats to fly and do their nightly feeding. Amazing!

    • I love the bats coming out at dusk. When we were there, the amphitheatre was about full and one lone bat came out. The ranger said that he was just checking to see if everyone was there. :-) Then all the bats came flying out. It is quite a spectacle...

    • We were here way back in 1975 and I remember it well! At that time they did not allow photos being taken in the cavern, so I bought photos. These are really good!
