A few more details: the Presley apartment is the only one of all these apartments that is the same size today as it was in 1952, less than 800 square feet. All the other apartments have been enlarged. You can live in the building, but not in the "Elvis apartment." June Robertson, an Elvis fan, lives on the third floor and will show you around. The "Elvis apartment" is set aside for short stays, like a hotel suite, or open for tours during special occasions like Elvis Week. It is furnished to look approximately like it did when the Presleys lived here. To do either you must go to the Leasing Office, for the new gates are locked. That will be our next destination.
