Doubling Point Lighthouse

Album Info:
I didn't know if this was a working lighthouse or not when I took the picture while looking downriver from the Maine Maritime Museum grounds. Ends up it's the Doubling Point Lighthouse on the Kennebec River, which services the upper end of Fiddler's Reach. Built in 1899, the small tower uses a 300mm plastic lens. Info is from Bill's Lighthouse Getaway (http://lighthousegetaway.com/lights/ken nebec.html), one of my favorite lighthouse websites. Next up, Portland and the Southern Coast of Maine ... see that Webshots album for more Maine adventures.
